Egypt Vs. Ethiopia: Who has Military Power

07 Jun

In my opinion, Egypt and Ethiopia will never going to war, period. Egypt president     Mohamed Morsi currently faced an astounding domestic and foreign political problem. The same is true on the Ethiopian side. Both African dictators use this fabricated “War on Water” to divert the attention of the Ethiopian and Egyptian people from the real issue. However, for the sake of argument, if both countries ever go to the war, it’s very important to assess each country’s’ military power.

Please , all war drummers’ stop and think twice before suggesting anything. In addition to all advantage Egypt have, they have the best intelligence and ground playing field than Ethiopia. While the Egyptian Intelligence unit has lots of foreign-based experience, the Ethiopian Intelligence unit is known for spying and torturing its own citizen to staying on power. Keep it real!!!

Yes! On paper it seems Egypt can easly beat Ethiopia. If you had the chance to put the difference bbetween Italy and Ethiopia you would definately get even much wider gup. This will give you a deceptive fact. If that is the case Isreal will not be survived at mids of Arabs, Cuba will be vanished infront of US, Japan will melt in the eyes of chineases, the apprtaied wil never been ended. Even if you are well equiped, you may loos a battle if you don’t have the right reason to fight. No matter how big you are, you can fall if if provoke innocennts. Let me cote from the bible “In case you go out to the battle against your enemies and you actually see horses and war chariots, a people more numerous than you,you must not afraid of them; for Jehovah your God is with you. ” ..
That is the truth you may proud of your mitary power, but we have God to proud. We will fight bravelly to use the gift that God has given us. It ain’t over till we win.

did god tell you to build a huge dad & deprive a nation from water supply ,did god tell you to kill your woen citizen to be in power ,did god tell you to start war in sudan to end in deviding fellow african nations.. if ethiopia deprive egypt from water trust me we will destroy that dam it is a matter of will to survive & let me see how can ethiopia stand to egyptin well to fight for the right to live ,by the way egypt was mentioned in koran 4 times egypt will be there till judjment day .egypt is a peaceful nation we only fight for real reason not for the fun of war .& by the way in 1973 war with israel we were 10km from tal aviv but USA joind the war .we captured air creaft & tank with the name USA on them & have 5 km meter .

        Hey Brother ,
I understand why many ppl are concerned in Egypt because of the GRD dam, sometimes I put myself in your shoes and ask myself how would I react, but trust me there is always a win win solution. Egypt and Ethiopia got to strengthen their friendship and I believe one must not hurt each other’s interest to prosper itself …Egypt have always thought and still thinks the wrong way ! That has to change cos Ethiopian’s and Egypt’s friendship must be based on mutual interest not based on one stupid Swiss national’s advise in the past ,that keeps many in Egypt awake at night ! Ethiopia has the right to build dams within its own territories and the international law allows it to do so! And honestly the dam doesn’t hurt Egypt at all, perhaps Egypt got to focus on the 15 percent of the water that flows to the Medtranian instead of trying to tackle the needs of upper nile states ….and be far sighted Ethiopia has no intention of hurting Egypt but it’s annoying to read such kind of comments ! Think twice you and the other guy have missed the point both of you are victims of the internal state radio and Tv propagandas !
The point is if Ethiopia was Egypt’s enemy would egypt be able to use the nile water? The answer is no !!! because if the river that flows to Egypt gets contaminated by chemicals no mater how much weapons both countries fire at each other Egypt won’t use the nile ,if Ethiopia have an intention of harming its God given Egyptian brothers interest ,no weapons will stop it cos the water that you claim you want to die or harm other ppl for, will be your worest enemy cos it won’t be used both for a drink or irrigation likewise.
Be part of the solution please as far as I’m concerned both ppl are friends forget what politics tells us we are brothers!

exactly numbers ill not matter ,reasoning matter. ethiopia must be aware if egypt lost its own water supply there will be a war ,no diplomacy or ps .as simple as that & trust me we will defind our right to live.

Ahmed you need to get your story straight. First of all in 1973 Egypt did not attack alone. The attack was coordinated with Syrian army and the Soviet Union’s invaluable advice, weapons and military intelligence to attack Israel on a national holiday (Yom Kippur). This was done to avenge for the six day war and take back the territories gained by Israel during the six day war. As it was a surprise attack, in the beginning of the war, the Egyptian and Syrian sides crossed the Suez canal and Golan Height respectively and gained significant advances. Within three days however, Israel was able to mobilize and gain back everything taken by Egypt and Syria, crossed the Suez and advance toward Cairo and Damascus. Also gained back all of the Golan heights and threatened to advance deep further into Egypt and Syria. The Soviets wanted to see Syria and Egypt win the war so bad, they wanted to get involved to stop the advancing Israeli army, which seemed unstoppable. The US of course to confronted the soviets and the two superpowers had a tough military confrontation, which eventually led to a return to the cease fire and ultimately to the signing of the Sadat-Israeli peace treaty, which benefited Egypt immensely.

The sources of truth are God. For this our world will be the witness, that truth will win whatever the cost is huge. So, I am sure Egyptian will not come to fight without having truth at hand about the gift of god.

it is clear that egypt is far more stronger militarily than ethiopia , nowadays some make peoplearguements who will be defeated if the two fight with out doubt ethiopia will be destroyed even though distance is there, egyptian military have the capacity to launch full size attack on ethiopia . On the other hand you ethiopians say god is with us as if god is only with you , god is with everyone on condition that he / she is deprived of their right .It is sure that egypt have already prepared for military attack because it is the nile on which 90 million people depend for their life .

Mahbub, and other Egyptian friends! Obviously, you miss the actual reality on the ground about the whole war situation. Militarily, it is impossible for Egypt to attack the dam, let alone Ethiopia. You see, Ethiopia has to be right only once to go and destroy the Aswan, which as you know is very vulnerable. Despite their lack of annual $$ billions military aid from the west like Egypt, the Ethiopians are excellent marks men when it comes to enemy targets. And believe me, an enemy like Egypt unites them and may add the Eritrean highlanders to their side as well. Moreover, this will give the Ethiopians an unprecedented opportunity to show the world who they really are. Back during the medieval times and even as recently as the 17th and 18th century, Egyptians were helped by the west particularly by the Brits, who wanted the Suez canal for their ships crossing. in spite of all that help, every time the Egyptians came against the Ethiopians, they always lost. It is true the people of Ethiopia are humble and gracious people. They seek no war with their neighbors unless invaded. The contradiction is that Ethiopians love the Arab people as well as the Israelis. They want to be at peace with everyone. They seem poor and forsaken. Precisely this is the reason they surprise their enemies. This may be why God is with them always. So be careful Egyptians, for it’s written ” enter not into the fields of the poor, for their redeemer is mighty, he shall plead their cause with thee”

ETHIOPIA HAS SUFFERED TOO MUCH. Its time for us to use this great river for our advantage. If the Egyptians try to bomb the dam, i’m flying all the way back home to Ethiopia to fight in the front line with my kebeto and kurkume. Ethiopian families were forced to use electricity in their homes every other day for years because of the power shortage. Mean while we have the Nile roaring down Africa taking away our natural resources and Egypt is at the end all happy and fat. This dam is going to solve many problems in Ethiopia. God was with us when we faced Italy and i have no doubt he’s going to be with us now.

Yes realy you have mentioned no time in our history Ethiopia was defeated.
We were always the victory of wars dueto not only by its military strength but by the help of our mercy GOD.
But even if Egypt has more military strength than us, we have to consider the how to Easily distort Egypt by attacking the Aswan. Aswan can distort two major cities of Egypt ,assume what will happen after they loos Aswan even they can not got a drop of water for their survival!!!!
Realy it hard for Egypt that is the reason to be silent against stand for fight.
Thanks to GOD, we are on the good condition. Ethiopia is the second military strong nation in Africa and 44 th in the world..
      Be proud Ethiopians !!!!! Nn

Even if Egypt is more stronger than Ethiopia in military strength,Ethiopia will win successfully. Because ,once the war is started ,we us Ethiopians didn’t stop until Egyptian eradicated from the world. You know why?All Ethiopian having a weapon on one hand ,on the other hand having a material to dam and divert all our water resources into our territory. The water which reach Egypt soil not “Nile” but “Nil”. Then after, the war is over! The Egypt wouldn’t longer survive. The end.

why do you always think about military solutions? no war between Egypt and Ethiopia because the two countries is fully aware of the importance of the Nile to the other . Egypt the northern shield of Africa

look the history hoe the war between the holy land ethiopia and your egypt ended..

..”The Egyptians invaded from their coastal possessions in what is now Eritrea. The armies of Yohannes and Isma’il met at Gundat on the morning of 16 November 1875. The Egyptians were vastly outnumbered and their forces were completely destroyed. News of this huge defeat was suppressed in Egypt for fear that it would undermine the government of the Khedive. The Egyptians tried again to invade from the north, but were again defeated at the battle of Gura in March 1876.

We will destroy you again with GOD.

Hey Egyptians please do not be proud of the weapons you have we are Ethiopians are fighting poverty and we need our money for solving poverty otherwise if you push us in to war we Can buy and bring all the weapons you have from USA, Israel and Russia with in matter of days that is easy but we do not want to be poor to buy weapons……that is the reason we are not having lots of weapons like you but do not forget that if we are really in to war with we will bring any special weapons even weapons that do not exist with you….thanks to Technology and the powerfull states of the world. I say again donot push us in to war the consequece will be bad for both sides

My Dear Brothers before we are Judging or condemn we have to analize many things and factors
    1. War for what ? War is not child game!!!!! Egypt by now not for war even they can’t adjust their political situation in their country! (Without sustainable political situation and government Leading Role – war is unthinkable!!!!! 2. The no of Armament or military tanks or missiles are not a criteria or factors for win the war – If so The Great German can win the II world war, but always the aim (the reason) is deciding factor for win ??? People if you are looking and analyzing the situation – We are living in the 21 century and not only technology, but our mind also should be develop, but the opposite!!!!!!!!! ” a child with his infant mind crying to get other’s candy” 3. The Ethiopians are God fearing people – they gave a chance for Egypt and Sudan a chance to bring their scientists (experts) to + from Ethiopia and other Europe and American experts to check whether the Dam bring problem for the downstream countries- of course not – such Idea even 1929 or 1959 without informing to Ethiopia their colonial Masters deciding. Rule is equal for all regardless of nation, race, religion, language or else !!!!!!!!!!! I feel shame for Egyptian friends be civilized & modern in thinking – we have to adopt not (like of your Tahrir square demonstration, but in round table solution – that is modernization !!!
Even in any Religion think for your neighbor, as you think for your self !!! Don’t be greedy!! From any side.
